With the international break upon us next week, the league will pause as the world’s top talent heads on international duty for the World Cup and European Championship qualifiers.

United have a range of players leaving Carrington to represent their national sides, with Matthijs de Ligt, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Rasmus Hojlund, Patrick Dorgu, Casemiro and Matheus Cunha all heading to put on the shirts of the Netherlands, Portugal, Denmark and Brazil.

In their younger ranks, Gabriele Biancheri has also been called up to the Wales Under-21s side as they prepare for the 2027 European Championships under Matty Jones.

However, a trio of young Red Devils have also received call-ups to represent the England Under-20s side in an upcoming friendly.

With the United academy home to an impressive array of talent, goalkeeper Elyh Harrison and striker Ethan Wheatley have both been called-up to the national side, alongside one of Ruben Amorim’s young talents.

In his side, Harry Amass and Ayden Heaven, are both eligible to join the England Under-20s side, however it’s been Heaven who’s been selected, gaining first-team football under the Portuguese manager after moving from Arsenal in January.

The England youth side are set to take on Italy in Chesterfield on Friday 9th September, being their first game since March when they drew to the Portugal Under-20s in the U20s Elite League and Switzerland’s Under-21s in a friendly.
