Manchester United are just an hour away from kicking off against Grimsby Town in Carabao Cup Round 2 at Blundell Park.

Ruben Amorim’s side need to win tonight, to bring a little bit of calm to United fans who are yet to see their team win a game this season.

The Red Devils lost narrowly to Arsenal on opening day, before putting in an average performance away at Fulham in a 1-1 draw.

It’s already sparked criticism at Amorim from fans, with many questioning his system and favoritism towards players.

But tonight’s lineup as officially posted by United’s Twitter account, features two surprises – one of them being around Leny Yoro, who excelled against Fulham.

Yoro is absent from tonight’s matchday squad, along with Luke Shaw who is beginning to get into full rhythm.

As mentioned by Steve Railston on X, it’s believed that the two are being rested, hence their omissions from the squad.

While the news will come as some disappointment to fans, Amorim certainly isn’t affording to take any risks in regards to fitness and fatigue.

Shaw especially, holds an injury prone background – the need to keep the Englishman fit is pivotal considering his importance at the back.

While Yoro himself, has been maintaining his levels of quality in the back three.

Tyler Fredricson will feature instead tonight in place of Leny Yoro – Fredricson a player who the hierarchy have huge amounts of faith in for the long-term.

While Ayden Heaven is expected to feature as the left centre-back – Heaven who has also shown high levels of maturity and composure.

It promises to be an intriguing clash, considering the pressure already on Amorim to produce results.

If the Red Devils are to win tonight, it will be without two important players in Shaw and Yoro.
