Denmark are preparing for the upcoming 2026 World Cup as the European qualifications kick off next week.
The Danish national side have been drawn in Group C with Greece, Scotland and Belarus, with Denmark being the highest-ranked side in the group at this time.
Brian Reimer’s side are currently ranked in 21st, with Greece in 39th, Scotland in 47th and Belarus in 97th according to the FIFA rankings.
As such, Denmark will be hoping to lead the group, earning automatic qualification, however are still looking at fielding their best side against Scotland on 5th September and Greece on 8th September to do so.
Now, Reimer has unveiled his squad for the two fixtures, listing two Manchester United stars in his team.
United’s first-choice left-back Patrick Dorgu has made the cut, with his image even being featured in the side’s unveiling of the team list on X.
However, Rasmus Hojlund has also made the cut despite no longer featuring even on the bench for The Red Devils as Ruben Amorim has dropped the striker from his squad following the arrival of Benjamin Sesko.
Hojlund is looking likely to leave Old Trafford this summer, with a move to Napoli being lined up as the striker agreed personal terms earlier today.
It’s understood the move is set to be a loan-to-buy deal, with United and Hojlund favouring an obligation to buy over it merely being an option.
Another interesting choice with the Denmark call-ups, or rather omission from the call-ups is former Red Devil Christian Eriksen.
The veteran midfielder is currently without a club, so without any football right now, it makes sense that he hasn’t been selected, however this does mark the first time Denmark are heading out on the pitch without Eriksen since 2023.
