Through doing this, the 28-year-old became the first Scottish person to score the first goal of a Serie A season, a monumental achievement for him, the league and Scottish football.
Now, the former United player has been reported to have phoned a Manchester United player to try and convince them to join Napoli.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Scott McTominay has phoned Rasmus Hojlund to try and convince him to come to Naples.

The striker, who was part of Ruben Amorim’s ‘bomb squad’, has been considering his future which is most likely to take place away from United.
With the Danish international giving a move to Napoli his ‘green light’ and with the Serie A outfit advancing in their talks to sign the striker, a move to the current Italian champions looks likely.
But, with AC Milan still in the conversation for Rasmus Hojlund, a phone call from McTominay can be said to be a move from Napoli to try and secure the striker’s services.
With a move likely, we could see Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay reunited very soon.
