Bruno Fernandes, captain of Manchester United, has been one of many players linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer.
The attacking midfielder, who joined United in 2020, has made 292 appearances for the club.
Furthermore, he has scored 98 goals – just two short of a century.
As well as this, the 30-year-old has represented Portugal on the international stage.
Whilst with the national team, he has made 80 appearances.
In these appearances, Fernandes has scored on 25 occasions.
These performances, both with club and country, has arguably naturally attracted the interest of Saudi Arabian clubs.
Initially, earlier in the summer, it seemed that a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal could be on the cards.
Hilal had offered a fee of £300 million for the attacking midfielder.
Furthermore, they even matched the terms Fernandes requested.
However, even with Al-Hilal being close to a deal, Bruno Fernandes decided to stay at Manchester United as he rejected Hilal’s proposal.
With this proposal rejected, it had looked like the 30-year-old would stay at Old Trafford for the 2025-26 season.
But, yesterday, it was revealed that fellow Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad were targeting a move for Fernandes.
Furthermore, it was revealed last night that the midfielder’s representatives were in talks with the Saudi club.
Now, an update has revealed Manchester United’s stance on the situation.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils expect Fernandes to stay at the club this summer.
With United taking this stance, it arguably is now likely that the 30-year-old will stay at Old Trafford this summer.
However, with the Portuguese international’s representatives in talks with Al-Ittihad, nothing can be confirmed yet.
Therefore, United still need to prepare for every possible outcome.
