Senne Lammens is one of the most promising goalkeepers in Europe right now after an exciting rise at Royal Antwerp.
The 23-year-old rose through the Club Brugge youth academy before joining Antwerp on a free transfer back in 2023.
Since then, Lammens has made 64 appearances for the Belgian side, recording 12 clean sheets and only conceding 86 goals, averaging at 1.3 per game.
Last season saw the young goalkeeper become the first-choice shot-stopper at Antwerp, with Lammens recording 10 of the clean sheets in his 44 games, showing a major step up in his potential.
As a result, Manchester United have been strongly linked with the keeper, with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir previously having their Old Trafford futures in question.
CentreDevils revealed that the Belgian shot-stopper had given the green-light on a move to United, being keen to join Ruben Amorim’s project.
However, with Amorim backing Onana and Bayindir for another season, the door has been left open for local rivals Manchester City to swoop in.
Sacha Tavoieri has taken to X to report that The Citizens are now looking to Lammens as an alternative to Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was also on United’s shortlist.
Whilst City have already agreed terms with Donnarumma, negotiations with PSG have stalled, resulting in the club exploring other options.
As such, Senne Lammens has emerged on their shortlist as the top target, despite James Trafford having already been signed earlier this summer.
Both of the promising young goalkeepers have featured on United’s shortlist in their bid to strengthen their goalkeeping department.
Now, United could be set to miss out on both, taking them back to the drawing board.
