Manchester United has been the home of some top talents over the years, with their pulling power still evident despite their current struggles.
Despite having no European football this season, United have still managed to sign top talent’s in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
The trio have all wanted to join United to specifically play for The Red Devils and be a part of Ruben Amorim’s rebuild project to restore the club to their previous winning ways.
Other players such as Carlos Baleba, Senne Lammens, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Emiliano Martinez have also been reported as green-lighting moves to Old Trafford this summer, transfers which unfortunately for fans have not materialised.
Now, one of the Columbia international squad has spoken out about nearly joining the club back in 2018.
The man in question is Cagliari’s Yerry Mina, who’s also had previous stints with Barcelona, Everton and Fiorentina.
The 30-year-old moved to Europe from Palmeiras in January 2018 when he joined Barca at Camp Nou for a fee of £11 million.
However, only a matter of months later, Everton signed the centre-back in the summer transfer window for £26 million, bringing him to the Premier League.

Now, Mina has spoken out about this time leaving Barcelona however, explaining that he could have ended up at Old Trafford instead of Goodison Park.
Speaking to Gazzetta, Yerry Mina explained: “I wanted to leave Barcelona even though the fans loved me. But I wanted to play.”
He continued: “Mourinho, who was at Manchester United, called me. He said, ‘If you’re well, you’ll play.’ But I had to recover.
“Marco Silva convinced me to go to Everton. They were five great years, I had Ancelotti, a great player. We started well, then five of us got injured. But the Premier League is beautiful.”
At the time, Mourinho had the likes of Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling at his disposal, with Mina being a potential replacement for Daley Blind who left for Ajax.
