Manchester United are heading into an exciting campaign under Ruben Amorim, who has finally had a full pre-season to assess his squad and implement his methods.

The Portuguese coach has already made his mark, putting his tactical stamp on a team that looks sharper, quicker and more direct.

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are two arrivals that have already shown glimpses of their quality.

Although United opened the Premier League season with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, the performance offered plenty of encouragement for fans.

The fluidity in Amorim’s favoured 3-4-3 system, along with his side’s pace and pressing intensity, left many supporters hopeful that the level shown on Sunday can be sustained across the season.

Now attention turns to another huge fixture in United’s calendar – the clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

As officially confirmed via the club website, the game has been rescheduled for Sunday 19 October at 16:30 BST, having originally been pencilled in for Saturday 18 October.

The fixture, one United fans always circle when the list is released each summer, will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Another match to be affected is United’s Old Trafford meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion.

That game, initially set for a traditional Saturday 15:00 kick-off on 25 October, has now been moved to 17:30 BST, also live on Sky Sports.

These changes mean United’s fixture list is now finalised through to the end of October.

A stretch that also features matches against Sunderland, Chelsea and Manchester City.

With Amorim’s side showing early signs of progress and some blockbuster games on the horizon, United supporters will be hoping this season delivers the consistency and excitement they’ve been craving.

The Red Devils’ next fixture is on Sunday against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

A clash that United won last season from a late Bruno Fernandes winner.
