AS Roma are currently in the process of rebuilding their squad this summer after their fifth place finish last season, making it 25 years since they last won Serie A.
Over the last seven years, Roma have bounced around the fifth to seventh place position, falling from their previous streak of five season in the top three.
Now, new manager Gian Piero Gasperini is keen to fight back up the table, having already signed Evan Ferguson from Brighton and Hove Albion, Wesley from Flamengo, and Neil El Aynaoui from Lens.
The Italian side have also now signed Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey on loan with an option to buy for £19 million.
Taking to their official website, Roma announced: “AS Roma are delighted to announce the signing of Leon Bailey from Aston Villa. The winger joins the club on loan with an option to buy.
“Bailey is the first Jamaican footballer in AS Roma history. Born in Kingston, he moved to Europe at the age of 13 and has played professionally for Genk, Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa.
“The 28-year-old has made 377 appearances in domestic and international league competitions, racking up 76 goals.
“Bailey has chosen to wear the number 31 shirt.
“Welcome to Roma, Leon!”

During his time at Aston Villa, Bailey has shown off his versatility across both wings, as well as upfront, grabbing 22 goals and 24 assists in 144 games across four season.
However, Roma are hoping Bailey can have another impact at the Italian capital, by luring his good friend Jadon Sancho to the Serie A side.
Roma have already agreed a £20 million fee for the Manchester United outcast and are willing to pay close to his full £7.75 million per year wage, however his agent’s hefty commission is proving to be a stumbling block, one that collapsed the deal for Sancho to move to Juventus.
Now, Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Bailey and Sancho’s friendship is one that Roma are hoping will help to land the former England international.
