Manchester United have taken a much stronger approach to youth emphasis in recent years following the arrival of INEOS.

The ownership group have prioritised building for the future, ensuring that the academy remains a cornerstone of the club’s identity.

That focus has only intensified since Ruben Amorim’s appointment last year, with the manager keen on blending elite signings with a clear pathway for youth.

United have added some of Europe’s brightest prospects since INEOS’ arrival.

Including the likes of Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven, Leny Yoro and Sekou Kone – all secured for relatively modest fees with huge long-term potential.

Among those now emerging internally is JJ Gabriel.

An exciting 14-year-old forward who has already been fast-tracked into United’s Under-18 side and is seen as one of the hottest prospects at Carrington.

As reported by Daily Mail, Gabriel was in the directors’ box for Sunday’s clash with Arsenal alongside teammate Jayden Ngwashi, where they spoke briefly with director of recruitment Christopher Vivell and their families.

Despite his age, Gabriel has already been starring for the Under-18s, winning the decisive penalty in their opening-day victory at Everton, converted by Amir Ibragimov.

Academy insiders believe Amorim has taken a personal interest in Gabriel’s progress.

The first-team boss has been receiving regular updates from staff.

During United’s pre-season tour in the US, Amorim even made time to watch clips of Gabriel, who is expected to be a central figure for Darren Fletcher’s Under-18 squad this campaign.

Seen as the player with the greatest potential in the academy setup, Gabriel has long been competing well above his age group and is now playing four years up.

A sign of the club’s confidence in his ability.

Amorim will certainly be well aware of the club’s need to balance young talents with experienced, ready made players.

But, JJ Gabriel certainly looks one who could be first-team ready in the near future.
