The Premier League season is underway, and clubs are working to finalise their squads before the transfer window shuts in a couple of weeks.
Manchester United have already signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, but still aim to strengthen further in midfield and the goalkeeper position.
Newcastle had also shown interest in Mbeumo, yet the Cameroonian forward opted for a move to Old Trafford.
Instead, Newcastle turned to former United winger Anthony Elanga, with the deal indirectly benefitting United as they received £6 million through a sell-on clause included in his transfer to Nottingham Forest.
Meanwhile, Forest have officially completed the signing of Elanga’s replacement this summer, ensuring their squad remains filled with quality for the campaign ahead.

Nottingham Forest have officially confirmed the signing of Omari Hutchinson on a five-year deal from Ipswich Town.
The young midfielder joins after a standout summer with England’s Under-21s, scoring in the 3-2 victory over Germany as the Young Lions were crowned European Champions.
Hutchinson had an impressive first full Premier League season in 2024/25, contributing three goals and two assists in the league.
A product of Arsenal’s academy who later joined Chelsea, Hutchinson is a highly versatile attacking player, capable of playing on both wings or centrally behind the striker.
At Forest, he will be aiming to continue his excellent form, contribute significantly in goals and assists, and help the team replicate and even improve on their strong performances last season that secured European football.
United will be happy with the transfer dealings done by Forest and Newcastle this summer, and will hope to use the money earned from the Elanga deal to reinvest wisely before the transfer window shuts in a few weeks time.
