According to CFOOT, a Cameroonian outlet, via X, Manchester United and Brighton have reached an agreement for the transfer of Carlos Baleba.
They claim the deal is valued at €112 million, making it one of the most significant transfers in recent Premier League history.
CFOOT reports Carlos Baleba is expected to sign with United in the coming hours, with the official announcement to follow shortly.
The alleged agreement comes after weeks of negotiations, with United keen to secure the services of the highly-rated midfielder.
Baleba’s ability to play both as a holding midfielder and in a more advanced role makes him an ideal fit for Ruben Amorim’s tactical setup.
His impressive performances for Brighton last season, including his goal-scoring contributions and defensive solidity, have caught the eye of United’s recruitment team.
Brighton, known for their shrewd business in the transfer market, have reportedly held out for a substantial fee for Baleba.
The €112 million agreement reflects the player’s growing reputation and potential.
United, despite their significant summer spending, have managed to structure the deal in a way that aligns with their financial planning.
The move is expected to be a significant boost for United’s midfield options, providing depth and quality to a crucial area of the pitch.
However, Nathan Salt, via X, clarified that claims of Manchester United reaching an agreement with Brighton for Carlos Baleba are incorrect.
Salt says that Baleba remains a top midfield target, but no deal has been made at this point.
CentreDevils is not aware of the credibility of CFOOT but they did break the news of Baleba’s transfer to Brighton in 2023.
They also reported on Onana’s 5-year deal with Manchester United in 2023.
