Manchester United are frantically trying to offload Rasmus Hojlund this summer as the club’s former first-choice striker has slipped down the pecking order following the signing of Benjamin Sesko.
After two years at Old Trafford, Hojlund is still struggling to find consistency in front of goal, with the 22-year-old failing to live up to his £72 million price tag that United paid Atalanta for him.
With the Denmark international experiencing a streak of 20 games without a single goal contribution, it became clear that Ruben Amorim needed someone else to lead the front line.
Now, with Sesko at the club, Hojlund has lost his spot in the starting eleven, even being an unused substitute in their recent friendly win against Fiorentina.
The fixture set the tone that Amorim has no intention of using Hojlund in his plans going forward, so he’d need to find a new club to get first-team minutes.
Whilst Rasmus Hojlund was initially keen to stay and Old Trafford and fight for his sport in the club, the striker is now reportedly open to other opportunities.
Whilst several Serie A sides have been declaring their interest in the interest in the striker, no-one has signed him as of yet, with a top Bundesliga side now entering the fray.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports has now reported, via Goal, that United have contacted Bayern Munich to consider a move for the striker.
The offer is reportedly for a loan deal with the option to buy next summer, similar to the move being worked on between United and AC Milan.
However, it’s unknown as of yet how Bayern feel about the off, and whether they’d pursue it as a viable option for them.
They aren’t the only German side looking to the striker however, with former United manager Erik ten Hag being linked with the striker at Bayer Leverkusen.
