As Manchester United count down the days to their Premier League opener against Arsenal, excitement is building around one of their newest recruits.
Benjamin Sesko, who completed his move from RB Leipzig over the weekend, trained with his new teammates for the first time on Monday and is eager to prove his fitness ahead of a big debut.
United fans will be hoping the towering Slovenian striker can provide the firepower they need to kickstart a revival at Old Trafford.
Sesko’s transfer sparked considerable speculation, with several top clubs vying for his signature.
However, it was the promise of helping United reclaim their former glory that ultimately swayed him.
Speaking to MUTV, Benjamin Sesko shared his ambitions and why he chose the historic club.
“Just that we get better, that we connect together, in general, and we, as a team, just try to grow, to grow together step by step because we’re getting better.
“We’re just even more complete and complete.
“It’s just a matter of time when we can fly high again.”
The forward made it clear that the club’s rich history and the potential within the current squad were key factors in his decision to sign.
“I think, first of all, because of the club,” Sesko explained.
“It’s just a historical club that is unbelievable.
“For me, the team is great.
“It is getting better and better and that’s why also there is just stuff that makes you come there, gives you this energy that you want to be part of.
“I think it’s a great project, in general, and I can’t wait to start, definitely.”
Having only just arrived, Sesko already feels the buzz around Old Trafford.
“I’ve just been here for a couple of hours,” he continued.
“And it’s already been amazing.
“I can already feel that we’re going to be a great family and it is a pleasure to be part of it.
“It feels good, you know, the thing is it [the badge] fits well and I’m looking forward to just playing in it a lot and try to represent in the good ways possible.”
With such passion and determination, Sesko is ready to help Manchester United soar once more.
