Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is settling into his new role at Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season.
The role comes as ten Hag’s first job since being sacked by The Red Devils back in October 2024.
Two weeks after, Ruben Amorim was appointed as United’s new manager, bringing his entire coaching team from Sporting CP with him.
Now, Erik ten Hag has opened up about his time at Old Trafford, but specifically on his relationship with United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
The five time Ballon d’Or winner saw his second stint at Old Trafford fall under the leadership of Erik ten Hag.
However, his stay with the Red Devils saw him be released clueless before Al-Nassr snapped him up.
Now, speaking to Hayters TV, the Dutch manager was asked very directly his thoughts on the United legend.
Without pulling punches, ten Hag was asked; “Is Cristiano Ronaldo still the problem?”
However, in response Erik ten Hag responded: “He was never the problem. It’s the past. After that we won two trophies at Manchester United. I wish him all the best for the future.”
