Manchester United have been linked to a series of midfielders as they aim to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

The club have already reinforced their attacking front line.

Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have all been signed.

With Casemiro ageing and Toby Collyer expected to leave, a move for a midfielder is on the horizon.

Javi Guerra is a name that has been linked to the Red Devils before.

Guerra is a dynamic box-to-box midfielder known for his physical presence, tactical awareness, and ability to carry the ball.

He excels in both attacking and defensive phases of play, making him a versatile option in the midfield.

The 22-year-old Spanish midfielder is on the list for many teams.

As confirmed by ValenciaCF via X, Javi Guerra has signed a new contract until 2029.

There was even a time when Spanish reports said that the Red Devils were close to signing the Spanish midfielder.

However, with a new contract being signed, it can be seen as not possible to acquire the Valencia midfielder in the near future.

Ruben Amorim’s side will need to look at other options.

Carlos Baleba is a name that has been mentioned a lot in recent days.

The Brighton midfielder is open to joining the Red Devils, with contact already being made with his agents.

However, a move is seen as difficult due to Brighton’s demands on his fee.

Ruben Amorim has also made it clear internally he wants a new midfielder.

Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes are great players, but competition is still needed.

Guerra will be seen as a miss.
