Manchester United are determined to bounce back next season with some serious statement signings being made this season.

The Red Devils have been prioritising moves for top-tier players who want to play for United as opposed to wanting a club for European football.

As such, Ruben Amorim has already added Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to his squad, with Benjamin Sesko set to join by the end of the week.

Alongside them, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba has also emerged as a strong candidate to join the club as a long-term replacement for Casemiro.

However, United are still considering a move for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The 23-year-old has emerged on United’s shortlist as a strong candidate to become the club’s back-up keeper should Altay Bayindir leave to find more first-team football as was expected before the summer transfer window opened.

Lammens has already given a green light to the move, wanting to join The Red Devils, once more fitting United’s recruitment strategy of signing players who want to play for the club and not just look for European football.

However, a new approach with the signing of Lammens appears to be on the cards.

Ben Jacobs has recently reported that instead of being reliant on Bayindir departing the club, United could consider signing Senne Lammens and instantly loaning him out to get further first-team experience, setting him up for a future between the posts at Old Trafford.

Talking to The United Stand, Jacobs commented: “If Bayındır stays, there’s even a scenario where they say to Antwerp, ‘we’ll pre-agree it or we’ll loan him back to you and then he’ll come in a year’s time’.”

He continued: “Because if Bayındır stays, then Senne Lammens might be better suited continuing at Antwerp or even being sent on loan somewhere else. So this is an internal conversation at the moment.

“It’s not urgent until Bayındır finds another club regarding the young number two, and nobody else is sort of hijacking that Senne Lammens deal.”
