Christian Eriksen’s Manchester United exit marked one of the quieter departures of the summer.
The Danish midfielder’s contract officially expired at the end of the 2024/25 season, bringing to a close a three-year stint in which he made 107 appearances under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim.
United had signed Eriksen on a free from Brentford in 2022.
Despite flashes of quality, he gradually lost his place amid tactical shifts and fitness concerns.
His best season at United came in his debut season – where he bagged 12 goal contributions in all competitions.
Now a free agent, Eriksen has yet to choose his next destination.
Although he’s been linked with clubs across Europe and beyond ahead of the new campaign.
As news circulated reported recently, one of the more surprising suitors to emerge was Wrexham AFC, with manager Phil Parkinson confirming “a bit of dialogue” had taken place earlier in the summer.

However, according to the Daily Mail’s report, Eriksen has officially turned down the move to Wrexham.
The Championship newcomers, co-owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, made an ambitious attempt to land the 33-year-old.
However, they were ultimately rebuffed.
Eriksen’s agent, Martin Schoots, explained: “Christian still wants to play in a first-tier competition.
“He absolutely wants to stay in Western Europe.”
That ambition has ruled out offers from Brazil, the Middle East, and the United States – despite notable interest from those regions.
The Dane does have options on the table, though.
Mail’s report states Turkish giants Fenerbahce, Besiktas, and Trabzonspor have shown intent.
While clubs in Spain and Germany have also made initial enquiries.
Wherever he lands, Eriksen looks set to continue competing at the top level – just not at Wrexham.
