Striker rejects Manchester United

The Red Devils face a setback in their bid to sign a clinical forward before the transfer window shuts.

Manchester United have already secured the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

The club is now actively working on bringing in a new striker.

Their shortlist for the position is long, but the two primary targets were Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.

Gyokeres has already joined Arsenal, which has pushed United to focus on Sesko.

Talks are ongoing with Sesko’s agent as well as RB Leipzig.

Reports suggest that Manchester United are ready to match Newcastle United’s bid to sign Benjamin Sesko.

However, the club will only submit an official bid once they get the green light from Sesko.

This means all personal terms must first be agreed, and the player must choose United over Newcastle.

If Sesko opts for a move to Newcastle instead, United would remove him from their shortlist.

The next striker on that list should be France and Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani.

He has long been a target for United and is admired by Ruben Amorim for his versatility and big-game experience.

Kolo Muani’s World Cup final appearance with France adds further weight to his profile.

However, La Stampa via IlBianconero reports that Kolo Muani has already rejected Manchester United.

He has also turned down interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The reason is simple: Kolo Muani has his heart set on a permanent move to Juventus.

He has publicly stated several times that playing for the Serie A giants is his dream and he remains committed to that choice.

The 26-year-old striker joined Juventus on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

He impressed during his short spell, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in 19 appearances.

Speaking to L’Equipe after helping France beat Germany 2-0 in the Nations League third-place playoff, Kolo Muani said:

“I’m very happy at Juventus, I hope to continue there… I’m going with them to the Club World Cup.”

Kolo Muani’s loan officially ended on 30 June and Juventus have yet to secure him permanently – a gap United could’ve exploited as a last resort in case the Sesko move fell through.
