Manchester United’s new young striker Enzo Kana-Biyik could well be out of action for some time now after experiencing an injury whilst on loan away from the club.

The 18-year-old joined Manchester United this summer from French side Le Havre, having come through the club’s academy playing for the same side his father, Andre Kana-Biyik retired at.

However, upon joining the Red Devils, it was quickly decided that the best move for Kana-Biyik’s development would be to send the striker out on loan.

Although the youngster is a keen prospect for the future, 18-year-old Chido Obi is already on the first of the United senior team, taking precedence in the first-squad over the new signing.

As such, retaining Kana-Biyik was deemed to potentially hinder the striker’s development, needing as much match experience as possible at the the level he’s now at.

Making the most of INEOS’ links with Swiss club Lausanne Sport, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe owning both clubs, Kana-Biyik has joined Laussane on a season-long loan to gain more experience of first-team football.

However, Manchester World has now reported that the young striker has suffered a “severe knee sprain” in training, now ruling him out for eight weeks.

Unfortunately for Kana-Biyik, this means he’s unlikely to return until late September, missing out on the first two months and seven games of the Swiss Super League season.

The young striker is also set to miss Lausanne’s double fixture against FC Astana in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers and their Swiss Cup first round clash with Vevey Sports.
