Manchester United’s lack of European football next season has triggered a wider reshuffle of the first-team and academy setup.

With fewer fixtures on the calendar, Ruben Amorim is expected to keep a more streamlined squad, focusing on league stability after last season’s disappointment.

That has resulted in United pushing several youngsters out on loan, prioritising development through regular senior football over sporadic bench appearances.

Players like Sonny Aljofree, Radek Vitek, Enzo Kana-Biyik and Dan Gore have already completed temporary moves, and others are expected to follow as part of the same strategy.

A strategy that involves developing young talents around ready-made stars.

According to Fabrizio Romano on X, one of the club’s most promising prospects, Jack Moorhouse, has agreed a new contract with United and will now head out on loan.

Romano confirmed that the midfielder is set to join Leyton Orient on a season-long deal after attracting interest from multiple clubs.

Highly regarded within the club, Moorhouse trained regularly with the first team last season and was included in matchday squads.

Although, he’s yet to make his senior competitive debut.

A loan move was always on the cards, with the loan exit being expected earlier this month.

He featured on United’s post-season tour of Asia and played in the 3-1 win over Hong Kong, building on a strong year with the Under-21s after previously debuting for the U18s at just 15.

Eligible to represent the Republic of Ireland, Moorhouse also earned his first U21 international cap earlier this year in March.

The 19-year-old’s loan move marks another step in a carefully managed path toward first-team football – one United hope will pay dividends in the seasons to come.
