Manchester United are preparing for a long season ahead as Ruben Amorim continues shaping the squad to match his tactical demands.

With the Premier League fixtures now locked in, the focus has shifted back to the transfer market—both in terms of arrivals and exits.

The Red Devils have already waved goodbye to six players this summer, and the fates of a few ex-stars still hang in the balance.

Jonny Evans has announced his retirement and will now work behind the scenes at Carrington.

But not every departure from Old Trafford has ended in clarity.

Christian Eriksen is still a free agent following the expiration of his Manchester United contract at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Danish playmaker joined United from Brentford on a free transfer in 2022 and went on to make 107 appearances in three years under two managers.

Since his exit, the 33-year-old has been linked with multiple clubs but has yet to settle on a new destination ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Now, reports suggest that Christian Eriksen has emerged as a surprise target for Wrexham AFC, the rising EFL Championship side co-owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson confirmed to BBC Sport Wales that there was “a bit of dialogue” regarding the former United midfielder, but he quickly added that “it’s not gone any further than that.”

Parkinson did, however, acknowledge Eriksen’s pedigree, stating: “He’s a majorly talented player and very well respected throughout football.”

The midfielder’s agent, Martin Schoots, also confirmed to the Daily Mail that Wrexham’s interest had been made known over the summer, suggesting a potential move could still materialise.

There is speculation that the agent could be using the Championship side’s interest as leverage to attract better offers elsewhere.

Still, with the season rapidly approaching, time is running out for Eriksen to secure a new challenge.

Whether Wrexham is a genuine option or a bargaining chip remains to be seen—but the possibility of seeing Eriksen drop into the second tier of English football adds an intriguing twist to the summer transfer narrative.
