Manchester United appear to be on the back foot with their striker search this summer, with a significant number of clubs in search of top attacking talent this transfer season.
Chelsea have signed Liam Delap, Liverpool have signed Hugo Ekitike, and Arsenal have secured Viktor Gyokeres.
Meanwhile, Newcastle and The Red Devils are both battling it out for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
However, the extensive striker searches don’t stop with the men’s teams, as one of the London-based women’s sides have also been in search of a quality striker.
London City Lionesses are preparing for their Women’s Super League debut, and as such have signed former Manchester United striker Nikita Parris.
Parris brings a wealth of experience and quality to the squad, having won the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, as well as having stints at Everton, Manchester City, Lyon, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Brighton & Hove Albion, being the 5th all-time top goalscorer in the WSL.
Now taking to their official site, London City Lionesses have announced the signing of Nikita Parris, commenting: “We’re delighted to confirm the signing of Nikita Parris on a two-year deal, with the forward joining us until the summer of 2027.”
The statement continued: “A proven performer at the very highest level, Nikita brings a wealth of experience, quality, and leadership as we prepare for our debut season in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Speaking for the first time after signing for the London-based side, Parris commented: “I’m excited. It’s a very ambitious project and I’m really looking forward to meeting all the girls and getting started.”
She continued: “The project here aligns with the challenges I want to meet and the goals I want to achieve. I’m going to give my all to make sure the team progresses.”
