Manchester United’s Carrington training facility is now receiving a £50 million renovation, with an emphasis on updating the squad’s first team building to foster a collaborative, high-performance atmosphere.
The refurbishment will encompass all areas of the building, but the initial focus is on enhancing the gym, medical, nutrition, and recovery facilities.
The project is being led by Foster + Partners, a firm known for its work on sports facilities like Wembley Stadium and the Lusail Stadium in Qatar.
As expected, the project has gone through the entirety of the 24/25 season, where the Red Devils had a struggling season finishing 15th.

The decision to revamp Carrington was a key early decision by INEOS, the club’s co-owner, who felt the previous facility wasn’t up to the required standard.
Now, the reopening date for the new Carrington has been revealed.
As per the Daily Mail, it will officially reopen its doors at an opening ceremony on August 8.

The goal of the year-long renovation is to create a more prestigious training and recuperation environment.
It was completed earlier than expected and will open eleven days before United hosts Arsenal to begin the new season.
As they did for a large portion of the previous season, the first team has continued to train at the women’s and academy facility and use a gym set up on the indoor fields.
However, they will soon be moving back to their renovated headquarters.
These new facilities will for sure be a benefit to both the players and the coaching staff as they prepare for a challenging season next year.
