As Manchester United prepare for the 2025/26 season, they are focusing on giving Ruben Amorim as much time with his squad as possible.
Currently on their pre-season tour of the USA, United are gearing up to play their second pre-season match against West Ham United on Saturday, 27th July.
With new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo included on the tour, Amorim will be focused on instilling his principles into the new arrivals, while also reinforcing those ideas with existing players.
With the aim of improving performances after a dismal campaign last season.
However, Manchester United are not only focusing on improving training.
To succeed at the top level, a football club must excel in multiple departments, including data analytics, medical, coaching, and facilities.
United are actively working to modernise all of these areas.
According to Laurie Whitwell via X, the club is currently trialling a new cooling jacket during pre-season, developed in partnership with Adidas.
Charlie Owen and Ed Leng, key figures in United’s physical performance department, introduced the jacket to players during sessions in the U.S.
Players wear the jacket after warm-ups and at half-time to boost performance and prevent injury.
Organisers also plan to use the jacket at the 2026 World Cup, which highlights its potential as a significant advancement in sports science equipment.
Aside from that, Amorim has a reasonably fit group at his disposal.
He will be hoping to continue working closely with his physical performance and sports science staff to ensure the squad remains fit and fully available, especially as he looks to start the new season with momentum and minimal setbacks.
