Tyrell Malacia is coming to the end of his Manchester United journey with his contract up next summer, having no place in Ruben Amorim’s squad going forward.
As such, he’s one of five unwanted players at Old Trafford who have been left out of team training to prioritise a move away from the club.
Malacia has found himself as a member of the “bomb squad” in individual training with Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho, as well as Marcus Rashford before he made his move to Barcelona.
However, Malacia could now be set to leave the club with a lifeline in Saudi Arabia.
Dutch publication Voetbal International has reported that an unnamed Saudi Pro League side are the first team to submit a bid for Malacia, despite interest from across Europe.
It’s understood that Malacia is considering the move, having spent the second half of last season on loan with PSV Eindhoven, now needing to find a new club.
Unfortunately, this looks to be bringing an end to his disappointing spell at Old Trafford since joining from Feyenoord in 2022.
A year after his arrival, Tyrell Malacia suffered an injury to his knee which saw the left-back ruled ou of action from July 2023 to November 2024, missing the entire 2023/24 Premier League season.
Now with Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon having been signed, as well as Harry Amass rising through the ranks, the quality of left-wing-back is much higher now and much more youthful than the Erik ten Hag combo of Luke Shaw and Malacia, who were both ruled out at the same time.
As such, Malacia needs to find a new club if he hopes to kick-start his career anew.
However, with Malacia only considering the offer, not yet committing to it, it’s unknown how he truly feels about a Saudi move.
