Manchester United are moving decisively this summer to trim their squad ahead of the new season under Ruben Amorim, with plans to sanction at least five further loan exits following a busy transfer window so far.

After a summer already marked by several departures, including Marcus Rashford’s high-profile loan move to Barcelona, the club continues to focus on giving its young talents crucial senior experience elsewhere.

Rashford’s loan to the Catalan giants, where Barcelona are covering his wages and hold an option to buy for €30 million (£26m) next year, was a key early exit, signalling the club’s readiness to reshape the squad for a campaign without European football.

The lack of continental competition means fewer fixtures, so Amorim is keen to reduce the squad size to keep things manageable and efficient.

Players like Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia, and Antony remain on the transfer list, but Manchester United acknowledge that some might need to leave on loan if the right permanent deals don’t materialise in time.

The club is also focused on the development of its promising youngsters and aims to send at least five players out on loan this season to help them gain valuable playing time and prepare for future first-team roles.

Among those targeted for loan moves are Harry Amass, Jack Moorhouse, Ethan Wheatley, Ethan Williams, and Radek Vitek, as per the Manchester World.

Manchester World suggest Moorhouse is nearest to sealing a deal, with a likely destination being League One side Leyton Orient.

Harry Amass, another young defender, will also head to the EFL to build the physical resilience needed for Premier League football.

Meanwhile, forwards Wheatley and Williams are expected to leave on loan, while goalkeeper Vitek will likely move to Austria to join Sturm Graz after an impressive loan spell at FC Blau-Weiß Linz.

Rashford was the seventh player to leave on loan this summer, following Elyh Harrison’s move to League Two’s Shrewsbury Town.

Other loan moves include Enzo Kana-Biyik to Lausanne-Sport, Dan Gore back to Rotherham United, and Joe Hugill to Barnet.

Habeeb Ogunneye and Sonny Aljofree have also secured loan deals with Newport County and Notts County respectively.
