Manchester United’s youth development continues to show promise as several academy prospects look to gain valuable first-team experience this summer.
With the senior squad focusing on key transfers, the club is ensuring that promising talent is not left behind and is given the right platform to progress.
Loans remain a vital pathway for young players to adapt to the physicality and pace of senior football, especially in England’s lower leagues.

The upcoming season will see more United youngsters testing themselves in competitive environments away from Old Trafford, aiming to return ready for Premier League challenges.
One such player now embarking on a fresh chapter is goalkeeper Elyh Harrison.
United have confirmed, via the clubs official website, that the 19-year-old shot-stopper has joined League Two side Shrewsbury Town on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.
This marks Harrison’s second loan move, following a successful six-month stint with Chester in the National League North during the 2024/25 season.
Over 18 appearances with the Seals, Elyh Harrison impressed with his composure and shot-stopping ability, prompting his return to United in January to contribute to the Under-21 squad.
His progress earned him a spot on the senior matchday bench in February, although he did not make an appearance.
Harrison’s journey with United began in 2022 after signing from Stevenage, where he quickly made his mark with the Under-18s team.
His confidence on the ball and bravery in goal were standout attributes as he helped the youth side secure an unprecedented treble of trophies during the 2023/24 season.

His outstanding performances were recognised when he received the prestigious Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year award.
Additionally, Harrison has featured for England at Under-19 level, emphasising his potential on the international stage.
At Shrewsbury, he will work under manager Michael Appleton, a former United Academy graduate and 1996 recipient of the same Player of the Year honour.
Appleton’s journey saw him make two first-team appearances for United before moving on to clubs such as Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion.
This loan spell represents a crucial step for Harrison as he aims to build on his development and stake a claim for future opportunities at Old Trafford.
