Manchester United continue to search for fresh attacking options as the summer transfer window unfolds, with manager Ruben Amorim keen to strengthen the frontline ahead of a demanding season.

The club has already been linked with a number of promising forwards across Europe as it looks to add pace, power and versatility up front.

However, the competition is fierce, and other top clubs are also fiercely protecting their emerging talents.

Inter Milan, in particular, have made it clear they have no intention of parting with one of their brightest prospects this summer, despite interest from the Red Devils.

The Nerazzurri have a long-term plan for 20-year-old Francesco Pio Esposito, a striker who has impressed on loan at Spezia with 22 goals in 79 Serie B appearances over two seasons.

According to Football Italia, Inter have already rejected two approaches for Francesco Pia Esposito — one from Manchester United and another from Atalanta.

United first enquired about Esposito during the January transfer window while he was still on loan, signalling early interest in the Italian’s potential.

Atalanta’s attempt came more recently, linked with their ongoing negotiations for Ademola Lookman, who has already agreed terms with Inter but whose €50 million price tag remains a sticking point.

Esposito made a statement of intent by scoring his first senior goal for Inter last month during the Club World Cup, netting in a 2-0 victory over River Plate.

This milestone appears to have cemented Inter’s belief in his potential and reinforced their decision to keep him despite external interest.

For Manchester United, this is a setback in their quest for a young, dynamic striker as they continue to balance recruitment with the need to offload players in the transfer market.

The pursuit of Esposito is just one of several avenues they are exploring, but the Italian’s future looks firmly tied to Inter’s long-term plans for now.
