After agreeing a fee with Brentford of up to £71 million for Bryan Mbeumo, Manchester United are exploring further additions in the transfer market.
Both current striking options Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggled to make an impact last season at United, with Zirkzee converted into a number ten under Ruben Amorim.
With goals needed at Old Trafford, Amorim has made a striker a priority, someone to play in between Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha in the front three.

Already this summer, United have targeted several strikers including Viktor Gyokeres, Hugo Ekitike, Victor Osimhen, Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko.
However, with Gyokeres and Ekitike looking set to join rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea respectively, United are looking at a number of other targets, one of which being Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023 for £32 million and has scored 30 goals in his 81 appearances.
Although Jackson is not the most prolific goalscorer, he has plenty more to his game than the current United strikers.
Jackson’s movement is excellent and he has the ability to drop in and link play, drawing attention from other sides.
As such, United are not the only club interest in Jackson, however, with Aston Villa and Napoli also enquiring about the striker.

Although, according to football.london, Jackson has been declared not for sale by Chelsea, who value him at £100 million.
Chelsea have signed both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer window, making Nicolas Jackson’s first team spot look less and less likely.
But Chelsea are reportedly wanting two strikers in Delap and Pedro, with Pedro seen as a player who can play across the front line.
Even though Chelsea believe every player has their price, Manchester United’s pursuit of Nicolas Jackson is looking less and less likely, especially given United’s current financial situation, with the need to sell before they buy.
