Among those facing a pivotal summer is Dan Gore, a tenacious 20-year-old midfielder once tipped as “captain material” and compared to Roy Keane by a former coach.
Having endured injury setbacks and limited game time during previous loan stints, Gore has now taken a key step in his development.
Manchester United have confirmed, via their official club website, that Gore will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Rotherham United, returning to the League One side where he briefly featured earlier this year.
The move marks Gore’s third loan spell away from Old Trafford, following a frustrating stint at Port Vale and his short but encouraging time with the Millers.

During his initial spell at Rotherham last season, he impressed in a debut against Birmingham before suffering a foot injury that curtailed his momentum.
Despite making just three appearances, manager Matt Hamshaw was vocal in his desire to bring Gore back, highlighting his “attitude, work ethic and tenacity.”
Now fit again and familiar with the club, Gore will hope a full campaign offers the stability needed to kickstart his senior career.
He made his Manchester United debut in September 2023 against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup, later appearing in the Premier League on Boxing Day.
Gore also featured in United’s Europa League squad last season but remains on the fringes.
A strong season at Rotherham could finally give him the platform to stake a long-term claim or attract permanent interest elsewhere.
