However, this time round, it’s a 20-year-old Norwegian defender that United have been actively scouting.
Norwegian outlet VG has reported that The Red Devils have set scouts to watch Brann take on Viking in a much-needed 3-1 win for Brann, taking them to only six points behind Viking with a game in hand.

It’s understood that United’s scouts were there to pay particular interest in Eivind Helland, Brann’s talented young centre-back.
Helland joined Brann in 2022 on a free transfer from Fyllingsdalen and has since become a key member of the senior squad’s back line.
At only 20 years old, Helland has made 37 appearances for Brann, even grabbing a goal and an assist from the centre-back position.

Now United are looking to the talented defender as a potential signing for the future, however he’s not the only young Norwegian to be scouted by The Red Devils under INEOS.
Last summer United took particular interest in Sverre Halseth Nypan who played for his hometown club of Rosenborg.
