Five of Manchester United’s players have asked to be sold this summer, looking for a future away from Old Trafford.
With a couple already gone, it appeared at the beginning of the summer that up to 14 players would be leaving Old Trafford this transfer season.
However, if the team wants to improve next season, they must make some significant sales in order to make room for new players.
Tyrell Malacia, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, and Marcus Rashford have all informed Manchester United that they no longer wish to play for United, and want to be allowed to leave in the coming months.
Admittedly this list won’t come as a shock, with Malacia, Sancho, Antony and Rashford having all had loan spells away from Old Trafford and Garnacho significantly out of favour with Ruben Amorim.
It’s also been revealed that the club has notified them that their return date has been postponed until “later in July” to give them more time to find a new home.
Now it has been reported that some of these players were unhappy about the brief yesterday.

According to the Athletic, the players and their representatives have not taken kindly to Manchester United’s briefing yesterday regarding their departure requests.
However, some of the five aren’t only upset, but also claim the report to be inaccurate, with no such requests being made.
That said, the decision for all five to leave this summer, either led by them or the club, won’t significantly impact Ruben Amorim who had no intention of including the five in his side anyway.
The Red Devils are still looking to make more signings this summer, prioritising the signing of Bryan Mbeumo, with these five sales set to boost transfer funds for incoming talent.
