Manchester United continue their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign with Ruben Amorim leading his first full pre-season in charge.

The Portuguese tactician is expected to focus on integrating new signings, trimming the squad, and reviving United’s identity after a turbulent few years at Old Trafford.

While the club charts its future, one of its greatest-ever players remains centre stage in world football — even from thousands of miles away.

Cristiano Ronaldo, now the face of Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, continues to attract attention wherever he plays, and his influence still links back to United in more ways than one.

And now, his current club has made a significant decision that could shake things up heading into the new season.

Al-Nassr have officially announced the departure of manager Stefano Pioli and his entire coaching staff, ending their collaboration less than a year after it began.

Pioli, who joined the Saudi Pro League side in September 2024, oversaw 44 matches, recording 28 wins, 7 draws, and 9 defeats, with his team scoring 101 goals and conceding 46.

Despite those numbers, Al-Nassr fell short in their title challenge, finishing third in the 2024/25 league campaign — a result considered underwhelming given the squad’s talent and budget.

The club confirmed Pioli’s exit in a statement this week, noting that the search for a new manager is already underway and that further updates will follow shortly.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who remains under contract with the club, played a leading role throughout the campaign but could not guide Al-Nassr to silverware under the Italian’s leadership.

Ronaldo chose to remain at Al-Nassr despite reports linking him with a switch to Al-Hilal ahead of the Club World Cup.

For Manchester United fans, the news serves as another reminder of Ronaldo’s continued presence in global football and the growing competitiveness — and volatility — of the Saudi Pro League.

Though far from Old Trafford, Ronaldo’s every move still resonates with the United faithful, especially as Al-Nassr aim to rebuild once again following Pioli’s departure.
