Nine years on, Paul Pogba’s £89m switch still remains Manchester United’s most expensive transfer package of all time.
It’s up for debate as to whether the Frenchman was a success in his second stint at Old Trafford.
Pogba was briefly linked with a sensational return to Red Devils earlier this year.
However, those rumours went on to quickly be dismissed in April.
Instead, the 32-year-old midfielder held talks with AS Monaco.
The French club offered him a short-term contract as he plots a comeback to top-flight football.

Pogba has been training in the United States throughout his doping suspension and remains determined to resurrect his career after a turbulent spell at Juventus.
A return to elite football is firmly on his agenda as he eyes opportunities both in Europe and potentially MLS.
DC United have also previously shown interest, back in April.
And while he waits for the right move, Pogba took time to reunite with some familiar faces at the Fifa Club World Cup in Miami.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the Frenchman caught up with former Manchester United teammates Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero, EdinsonCavani and Ander Herrera ahead of Boca Juniors’ 2-2 draw with Benfica at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Pogba posted “Que placer ver a mis amigos” on Instagram – “What a pleasure to see my friends” – after linking up with the quartet.
The match itself turned chaotic.
Ex-Red Angel Di Maria scored from the spot before three red cards were dished out, including one for Herrera after a touchline altercation with a security guard.
Rojo stayed on the bench, while Romero and Cavani were not in the matchday squad.
