Manchester United have shown no signs of slowing down in the transfer market after securing Matheus Cunha as their first major signing of the summer.

The Red Devils are also exploring further attacking reinforcements, with Bryan Mbeumo emerging as a priority target under Ineos’ direction.

Mbeumo is understood to have already agreed personal terms with United, as Erik ten Hag’s successor Ruben Amorim continues reshaping the squad for a fresh challenge next season.

United’s focus remains sharp, but with only two days left in the current phase of the transfer window, timing will be key as competition grows.

Tottenham Hotspur, now managerless after parting ways with Ange Postecoglou, are rumoured to be eyeing a double swoop — not just for Mbeumo, but also Brentford’s highly rated head coach Thomas Frank.

In the middle of all this, a familiar face to Old Trafford is making headlines.

Kieran McKenna, the former Manchester United assistant coach, is reportedly in Brentford’s sights to take over should Thomas Frank make the switch to Spurs, as per talkSPORT.

Kieran McKenna, who began his United journey in 2016 as the under-18s coach and later worked under Mourinho, Solskjaer and Rangnick, has enhanced his managerial profile with an impressive spell at Ipswich Town.

Having guided Ipswich to back-to-back promotions, his stock remained high despite their immediate relegation from the Premier League last season.

Brentford see McKenna as a long-term solution, and if appointed, he may find himself overseeing the final stages of Bryan Mbeumo’s potential exit.

Manchester United’s offer for Mbeumo still falls short of Brentford’s £60 million valuation, but talks remain ongoing between the two clubs.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Mbeumo is pushing for the transfer, with insiders confident that a compromise will be reached before the window’s temporary closure on June 14th.

Should McKenna be appointed at Brentford, it would not only mark a Premier League return for the ex-United man, but also a fresh chapter in a saga involving one of United’s top attacking targets.

It’s a reunion of sorts, just not at the Theatre of Dreams.
