Manchester United’s transfer business is far from over, with the club already making waves after completing the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

The Red Devils are now pushing hard for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, whose versatility in attack could provide the depth Ruben Amorim desperately needs.

With pre-season fixtures confirmed and preparations under way for the US summer tour, United’s recruitment drive continues at full tilt behind the scenes.

Having ended the 2024/25 campaign in a dismal 15th place and lost the Europa League final, Amorim knows the rebuild must be swift and smart.

And now, it seems the club could capitalise on uncertainty surrounding one of Europe’s most promising young midfielders.

Manchester United scouts have been keeping a close eye on 20-year-old Nico Paz, currently on the books at newly promoted Serie A side Como, as per CaughtOffside.

The Argentine attacking midfielder has emerged as a standout under manager Cesc Fabregas, drawing attention not only from United but also from Real Madrid, his former club.

According to sources close to the situation, Real Madrid are considering triggering an €8 million buy-back clause to bring Nico Paz back to the Bernabeu.

However, new Madrid boss Xabi Alonso may struggle to convince Paz to return unless regular first-team football is guaranteed – something the player did not enjoy during his previous stint in the Spanish capital.

That indecision could give Manchester United a clear window of opportunity.

While the club have not yet made official contact, there is growing belief that Amorim could push for a move if the player signals his openness.

CaughtOffside reports that United were particularly impressed by recent scouting reports on Paz, who has matured into a dynamic creative force with an eye for goal and superb vision.

His future may also hinge on what happens with Fabregas, who has been linked to the vacant Inter Milan job – though he has previously turned down offers to stay with Como.

With the right conditions, Paz could well be the next major addition to Amorim’s reshaped United, offering a long-term attacking option with serious potential.
