Manchester United have missed out on yet another of their attacking targets as Bayer Leverkusen beat them to a prize signing.
The Red Devils have already missed out on Viktor Gyokeres as their Europa League final loss made the move unfeasible without Champions League football.
Unfortunately for United the same applied to their pursuit of Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap who opted to go to Chelsea instead.
Now, another exciting striker has opted to head elsewhere instead of moving forward with a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United miss out on Christian Kofane
United’s missed opportunity this time is 18-year-old Christian Kofane who’s made a name for himself in the LaLiga 2, playing for Albacete.
The striker graduated from Albacete’s academy in January and he’s burst onto the scene with eight goals and an assist in 20 games.
As such, top European clubs like Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Monaco have all shown interest with Manchester United making contact to discuss a potential summer move.
Whilst it was believed that United were leading the race for the Cameroonian striker, they’ve now fallen short once more.
Now, Le Parisien has reported that the 18-year-old is joining Bayer Leverkusen with the German side triggering his £4 million release clause.
This marks one of the first signings for Leverkusen since Erik ten Hag has taken charge at the club, with the Dutchman reportedly looking at reuniting with some of his former United stars.
The former United manager has been linked with moves for Alejandro Garnacho and Antony, however has reported to have limited input into recruitment for the Bundesliga side after his failed recruitment drive at Old Trafford.
With United having paid £600 million on transfers under ten Hag, and recorded their worst ever Premier League results under the Dutchman, Leverkusen are keen to not let history repeat itself.
