Manchester United’s summer rebuild is well underway following the £62.5million signing of Matheus Cunha.
However, the club still needs to raise funds through player sales – and few situations are more delicate than Jadon Sancho’s.
The 25-year-old winger finds himself at a crossroads again, just a year after moving to Chelsea on loan in a deal that included a £25million option to buy.

Despite scoring in Chelsea’s Europa Conference League final win over Real Betis, Sancho’s inconsistent performances and week wage demands ultimately saw the Blues walk away.
United received a £5million penalty fee from Chelsea after the Stamford Bridge club declined to trigger the purchase clause.
It’s money that gives INEOS a bit more flexibility, but it also leaves Sancho in limbo.
The Englishman is unwanted by his parent club and unaffordable to most in Europe.
Enzo Maresca was keen to keep the England international.
However, Chelsea’s hierarchy refused to meet his wage demands.
United were even asked if they would subsidise part of Sancho’s salary to facilitate a permanent move, but the club declined.
They would rather pocket the £5m and seek a full sale elsewhere.

Adding further complexity is the fact United still owe Borussia Dortmund close to £17million from the original £75m deal that brought Sancho to Old Trafford in 2021.
That outstanding fee gives United added motivation to get him off the books this summer.
Crucially, manager Ruben Amorim has no intention of reintegrating Sancho into the first-team squad.
The club are instead looking to offload him and pursue Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford as a wide option to complement their new striker acquisition.
And now, halfway through the summer’s opening transfer window, three clubs have emerged as the frontrunners to sign the former Borussia Dortmund star.
Three Saudi clubs lead race to sign Jadon Sancho
As per The Mirror, these three clubs are Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Nassr.
All three Saudi Pro League giants are monitoring the situation, and Sancho’s links to high-profile figures in Saudi Arabia could help push through a deal.
With no European suitors willing to match his wage demands, the Saudi league is seen as the most viable solution for both Sancho and United.
The Red Devils are hoping a Saudi bid could come close to the £25million fee Chelsea were originally expected to pay, allowing them to fully cut ties and avoid another loan scenario.
While Sancho himself is reportedly not opposed to running down his contract and walking away for free in 2026.
Which would give him control over his next destination.

United are determined to avoid that outcome.
If a permanent deal fails to materialise, there is still a chance United could use part of the £5m received from Chelsea to subsidise his wages at another club.
Although, a clean sale remains the priority.
For now, the message from United is clear.
Sancho is up for sale, and they hope the interest from Saudi Arabia turns into concrete bids in the weeks ahead.
