Manchester United have been busy shaping their plans for the summer under new boss Ruben Amorim, with big changes expected both in terms of arrivals and departures.

The club’s recent £62.5m signing of Matheus Cunha has already made waves, while reports suggest Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has expressed interest in moving to Old Trafford.

With Champions League football off the table next season, the Red Devils must now raise funds to support Amorim’s rebuild, which puts several high-profile names at risk of being sold.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are still dealing with the aftermath of their Europa League final loss to Tottenham, which not only dented morale but also cost them a lucrative return to Europe’s elite competition.

Now, fresh developments have emerged regarding Jadon Sancho, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Chelsea.

According to Ben Jacobs via United View, Jadon Sancho has attracted strong interest from the Saudi Pro League following the breakdown of his permanent move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were initially eager to retain the winger, who impressed with 15 goal contributions in 41 appearances across all competitions, including a goal in their Conference League final win over Real Betis.

However, the Blues failed to meet the player’s wage demands, believed to be close to £300,000 per week – a figure that proved too steep even for their current wage structure.

As a result, Chelsea are now liable to pay Manchester United a £5 million penalty for not activating the £25 million option to buy that was part of the original loan deal.

This turn of events has opened the door for Saudi clubs to swoop in, with financial packages that can easily match or exceed Sancho’s current salary.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Sancho will not remain at Old Trafford and is now actively seeking a move elsewhere, with Saudi interest considered “serious.”

The 25-year-old still has one year left on his Manchester United contract, but the club are now open to offloading him permanently to ease their wage bill and generate funds for incoming transfers.

With Chelsea out of the picture and no Champions League stage to lure him back in, a lucrative switch to the Middle East is looking increasingly likely.
