Go back 12 months and Alejandro Garnacho was seen as the future of Manchester United.
Having opened the scoring in the FA Cup Final against Manchester City and having had a stellar season, the Argentina international was expected to take the first team by storm this season.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened.
And it’s clear that the attacker is not happy right now.
Coming on with 20 minutes to go against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final, Alejandro Garnacho provided the spark that was missing from the team until that point.
However, he expressed his frustration about it after the game and implied that he wasn’t happy at the club.
In truth, it wasn’t all that shocking that he didn’t start the match.
Alejandro Garnacho has had a mixed season and has been more hit than miss.
Rumours have been swirling for the past few days about the future of Garnacho and journalist David Ornstein has just revealed that Ruben Amorim has told the Argentine to find a new club in the summer.
CentreDevils can now provide some more exclusive news inside Alejandro Garnacho’s relationship with Ruben Amorim.
CentreDevils can exclusively reveal that the relationship between Amorim and Garnacho has completely broken down.
Alejandro Garnacho was furious when he was told that he wouldn’t be starting the UEFA Europa League final and it was evident in his comments after the game.
As revealed by Ornstein, the Portuguese head coach told the youngster to leave in the summer.
Not only that, but CentreDevils can exclusively reveal that Alejandro Garnacho will not be part of the squad for tomorrow’s game against Aston Villa.
With it being the last game of the season, that means that Alejandro Garnacho will not play again for Manchester United.
Now, as we all know, football is fluid.
While the current situation is true as of writing, things may change.
If nobody comes in to sign Garnacho and he’s forced to stay at Old Trafford and he apologises for his outburst after the final to make amends with Amorim, the relationship could change and he could be brought back in.
However, we saw last summer that there is interest from a number of clubs in the attacker and it’s unlikely that he’ll go the summer without another club paying for his services.
It’s a real shame that things have ended up here.
Alejandro Garnacho won the hearts of the United faithful when he won the FA Youth Cup in 2022 with a man of the match performance against Nottingham Forest.
Since then, he’s done some great things in the first team at a young age.
Nobody will ever forget his bicycle kick goal against Everton.
But this seems the end of his chapter as a Manchester United player.
And many MUFC fans will be gutted, thinking what could have been for one of the brightest prospects out of Carrington for years.
