Manchester United’s summer rebuild is already taking shape behind the scenes, with several fringe players expected to make way.

Ruben Amorim’s side continue to push for Champions League qualification through the Europa League, but the bigger picture involves reshaping a bloated and inconsistent squad.

Christopher Vivell and Jason Wilcox have already taken steps to streamline United’s wage bill and make room for new arrivals that fit the manager’s tactical vision.

A number of senior players are facing uncertain futures at Old Trafford, and some could leave even if United go on to lift silverware this season.

One player edging closer to the exit door is Brazilian winger Antony, whose Premier League days appear to be numbered.

According to ElDesmarque, emissaries from Real Betis held fresh talks with Manchester United last week to discuss the continuation of Antony’s stay in Spain.

The report claims Betis are keen to extend the 24-year-old’s loan for another season and are now prepared to cover nearly all of his wages — roughly €7 million per year — a figure only slightly higher than what they previously paid club talisman Nabil Fekir.

Christopher Vivell was reportedly in Seville last Thursday to attend Betis’ clash against Fiorentina and used the opportunity to explore Antony’s situation further.

The winger is said to be fully committed to remaining in LaLiga and has no interest in continuing in the Premier League after a difficult spell in England.

United are also not open to loaning Antony to another English club, especially after Marcus Rashford’s recent struggles in a similar scenario.

Antony’s preference is to stay at Betis over other interested clubs such as Atletico Madrid, although Champions League football remains a key factor in his final decision.

A permanent sale remains the biggest threat to Betis’ hopes, with United open to cashing in if a bid in the region of €40–50 million arrives.

The Spanish club cannot match that valuation but are optimistic about keeping Antony through another loan unless a high offer materialises.

With Betis enjoying better-than-expected financial results and eyeing a strong Conference League finish, they remain hopeful of getting the deal done.

United, for their part, are open to a flexible negotiation, especially if it contributes to squad balancing and prepares the ground for new additions in the summer.
