Manchester United’s youth revolution under Ruben Amorim continues to gather momentum, with yet another academy star stepping into the first-team spotlight.
Injuries across the senior squad have opened the door for several youngsters to make their mark, with the likes of Chido Obi, Tyler Fredricson and Harry Amass all featuring in recent weeks.
Amorim’s willingness to turn to the academy has been one of the defining aspects of his early tenure at Old Trafford.
This week, as United gear up for the Europa League semi-final first leg against Athletic Club in Bilbao, Amorim has again looked to the youth ranks to bolster his travelling squad.
And the latest talent to benefit is Bendito Mantato, a 17-year-old winger who is set to cap a brilliant season with his first professional contract.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bendito Mantato has been included in the squad travelling to Spain, and will sign a professional deal with Manchester United until June 2029 upon returning to Manchester.
Mantato, who was born in England and has Angolan heritage, has been with the club since a young age and has made major strides this season.

He has scored seven goals in 11 U18 Premier League appearances and also made an impact at U21 level, netting twice and providing three assists in just four matches.
Primarily a right winger, Mantato’s versatility allows him to play on the left or even at fullback if needed – a trait that has made him a favourite with academy coaches.
His performances have not gone unnoticed at Carrington, and Amorim’s decision to include him in the travelling party for such a crucial European fixture speaks volumes about the trust being placed in the club’s next generation.
United’s long-term commitment to Mantato is reflected in the four-year deal he is expected to sign, securing his future amid interest from elsewhere.
The Red Devils may be struggling domestically, but their investment in youth continues to offer hope for a brighter future – and Mantato looks like the latest name to watch closely.
