Manchester United look to be missing out on one of their key summer targets as Chelsea attempt a hijack.
The Red Devils are determined to become the centre of development for the best young talent in football, recruiting young stars to their academy and senior team.
Already since INEOS took charge, Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven are two talented teenagers who were signed straight to the first team.
Alongside them, Chido Obi was signed to the academy but has already taken to the pitch for the senior side amid United’s attacking crisis.
Now, looking to sign another young talent to the first team, United have targeted Franco Mastantuono of River Plate.

Manchester United to miss out on Franco Mastantuono
The talented attacking midfielder has found himself on several high-profile shortlists, however ruled out a move wanting to wait for Real Madrid to show interest.
However, Los Blancos have removed themselves from the running over the financial issues of the deal.
Now, Caught Offside has reported that Chelsea are in fact leading the race for Franco Mastantuono as he’s made available for only £38 million.
However, it’s unknown at this time if the 17-year-old would be open to the move considering his strong desire to hold off and wait for a Real Madrid move.
It’s also a huge U-turn from River Plate who recently announced that he would not be leaving with the club chief commenting: “It is a certainty that Mastantuono stays all this year.”
