Manchester United are preparing for another busy summer under Ruben Amorim as INEOS look to streamline the squad while promoting emerging talent from the academy.
Several senior stars including Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Victor Lindelof have uncertain futures, and with Sir Jim Ratcliffe pushing for a younger, hungrier squad, homegrown players are expected to play a greater role in the 2025/26 campaign.
Amorim has already held discussions with technical staff over which U21 prospects could feature in pre-season.
But while some youngsters could break through, others may be moved on permanently—if the price is right.
That brings Dan Gore’s name into the spotlight once again.
According to reports, Manchester United have received an opening offer from Blackburn Rovers for the 19-year-old midfielder, as per RoversXtra on X.
The bid, believed to be in the region of £500,000, has been labelled as a “starting point” by sources close to the negotiations.
United are not expected to accept the proposal, viewing the figure as below Gore’s market value given his development, first-team involvement, and long-term potential.
Gore trained with United’s senior squad at Carrington last week as part of his rehabilitation from a foot injury that saw him miss the bulk of his loan spell at Rotherham United.

Dan Gore returned to Rotherham United for the final two games of the season following an agreement between the clubs, and featured in the second-half over the weekend.
United are understood to be open to letting Dan Gore leave if a significant sell-on clause or buy-back option is included.
INEOS believe in protecting the club’s future interest in academy talent, even if players depart early in search of regular minutes elsewhere.
Blackburn’s approach signals early interest, but unless their bid is raised considerably, Gore is unlikely to be sold this early in the window.
The coming weeks will determine whether he remains at Old Trafford or takes the next step in his career elsewhere—with United still holding the cards.
