Club chief rules out Manchester United move for star player

Manchester United are continuing their bid to secure some of world football’s hottest young prospects after making some impressive signings in the last 12 months.

So far since INEOS have taken charge at United, remodelling their recruitment strategy, The Red Devils have signed young talent like Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi and Sekou Kone, with Diego Leon set to arrive in the summer.

Well, United were hoping that Leon wouldn’t be travelling from South America alone, targeting River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono.

Earlier it was reported that The Red Devils had submitted an official bid for the attacking midfielder, however Plate were holding firm on their £38 million release clause.

Another obstacle for United is the interest from French giants PSG who have made the 17-year-old a priority of their for the summer.

Unfortunately for both clubs though, Mastantuono might be of the market with Rive Plate’s general secretary Stefano Di Carlo making his thoughts known.

Manchester United receive setback in pursuit of Franco Mastantuono

ESPN, as reported by Sky Sports has reported that the club chief has announced that Mastantuono will be staying at the Argentinian club for the rest of 2025 much to the disappointment of United and PSG to name a few.

Speaking about the youngster’s future, Di Carlo commented: “It is a certainty that Mastantuono stays all this year.”

As such, the soonest any club could move for the talented Argentine is in January 2026 when he enters the final year of his contract.
