Liverpool celebrated their 20th league title on Sunday, beating Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs 5-1 at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s Reds have officially moved ahead of Manchester United as the most successful club in English football history.
Liverpool now have six European Cups to United’s three, 69 trophies overall compared to United’s 68.
As well as 52 major honours to United’s 47.
Both clubs have 20 top-flight titles, but United only lead in FA Cups (13 to Liverpool’s eight) and Community Shields (21 to Liverpool’s 16).
United, meanwhile, scraped to a 1-1 draw with 10-man Bournemouth earlier in the day.
A point which lifted the Red Devils to 14th in the Premier League table with four games left to play.
Liverpool sponsor delivers humorous message
Following the title win, Liverpool sponsors Carlsberg aimed a brutal dig at United and legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, referencing his famous vow to “knock Liverpool right off their f***ing perch.”
Carlsberg placed billboards across the city reading: “Back on our ‘f***ing perch’? Probably,” later tweeting the images with the caption “we printed it,” a clear nod to Ferguson’s old quote.
Ferguson had once declared that overtaking Liverpool was his greatest challenge at Old Trafford.

Under his reign, United did just that.
But Liverpool’s latest triumph now sees them reclaim that historic perch.
Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of Liverpool’s 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham, Gary Neville wasn’t afraid to admit that the Reds have leaped above United in overall success:
“The painful thing to say is the debate is over for a period until United become successful again and win leagues.
It should cause real tremors at Old Trafford. Liverpool will be the most successful club after today.
And that should cause heartache and pain, because it took a lot to get ahead of Liverpool.”
