Manchester United are putting all their focus into ending the season on a high under Ruben Amorim, with the Europa League still firmly in their sights.
A dramatic 5-4 victory over Lyon in their last Europa League meeting out has raised hopes that United could still salvage major silverware from what has been a turbulent campaign.
While Amorim leads the push on the pitch, Ineos are wasting no time planning their first big summer window in charge of the club’s recruitment.
The early signs are promising, with United closing in on Matheus Cunha and a number of young talents to bolster the future core of the squad.
Yet it’s clear that Ineos want one or two statement signings to immediately lift the level at Old Trafford and challenge at the very top again.
One name that has remained on United’s radar for months is Victor Osimhen.
According to new reports out of Italy, United are now ready to trigger the Nigerian striker’s release clause ahead of the summer transfer window.
TuttoJuve reports that United have made the major decision to pay the €70million (£62.1million) fee that Napoli demand to let Victor Osimhen leave.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a move bringing Osimhen to Old Trafford this summer is unlikely.
Speaking on YouTube, Romano said: “He wants the same salary he’s earning at Napoli – €12m net, plus commissions and his €75m release clause.”
However, TuttoJuve’s report is claiming that United have tabled a huge annual salary worth £13million to try and tempt Victor Osimhen to Manchester.
However, United aren’t alone in the race, with Juventus also pushing hard to land the 25-year-old superstar.
Juventus are said to be confident about their chances, which could set up a fierce battle between two of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Osimhen’s powerful presence, pace, and finishing ability have made him one of the most sought-after strikers in world football today.
United’s desire to bring in a new elite-level forward is no secret, with Rasmus Hojlund needing serious competition and support if he is to stay on next season.
If Ineos can beat Juventus and secure Victor Osimhen, it would mark a massive statement of intent and provide a huge boost to Amorim’s project.
The striker has scored 31 goals in 36 games for Galatasaray this season across all competitions, underlining his value at the highest level.
With Osimhen seemingly ready for a new chapter, United now have a clear opportunity to strike early and deliver a headline-grabbing summer signing.
