Former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is making waves in the Netherlands with his Feyenoord team.
The team currently sit third in Eredivisie having won their last six matches in a row, scoring an impressive 20 goals in that time.
Feyenoord hired Van Persie in February, replacing Brian Priske.
The club were knocked out of the Champions League, but their league form has turned around completely, thanks to the arrival of Van Persie.
The former striker is one of a collection of ex-Manchester United players to try their hand in management.
Wayne Rooney, Roy Keane, Michael Carrick, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are just a few of the players who, likely inspired by Sir Alex Ferguson, went into management following their retirement.
Another, Ruud van Nistelrooy, managed United for a brief period following the sacking of Erik ten Hag, before moving onto Leicester City.
Van Persie arrived at Old Trafford in 2012, completing a sensational transfer from rivals Arsenal.
The Dutchman spent three years in Manchester, scoring 48 goals and winning the Premier League, before leaving for Fenerbahce.
In 2018, Van Persie moved to Feyenoord, where he had started his career, ultimately announcing his retirement in 2019.
After hanging up his boots, the 41-year-old was unofficially named assistant-coach at Feyenoord to Dick Advocaat, gaining an official title in the back-room staff in 2021.
Van Persie would go on to coach the club’s under-18s, before leaving to become head coach at fellow Eredivisie side Heerenveen in 2024.
And in February of this year, it was announced that the former player would become the head coach of Feyenoord, as the club from Rotterdam looked to rediscover the title-winning form they had enjoyed under – now Liverpool head coach – Arne Slot.
