Manchester United target Matheus Cunha has finally spoken out about his future, following weeks of speculation.

The forward’s move to Old Trafford is reportedly well advanced, with discussions over the wages progressing.

Cunha had signed a new contract with Wolves in February, but it was revealed that a £60m release clause was included.

United are reportedly ready to meet this clause, with Ruben Amorim attempting to rejig the attack that has failed to impress this season.

Another striker could follow Cunha through the doors at Carrington this summer, with Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen also linked, among others.

Delap also reportedly has a release clause in his contract, with Ipswich Town’s relegation today confirming it will be effective in the summer.

Although Wolves have now confirmed their safety in the Premier League, Vitor Pereira is still hoping his side can finish the season strongly.

And today’s win over Leicester City was their sixth straight Premier League win, seeing them climb to 13th in the table.

Cunha starred in the victory, opening the scoring before setting up goals for Jorgen Strand Larsen and Rodrigo Gomes.

He spoke to BBC Sport after the match about his future: “We are very committed to this club, everyone, and want to show the fans our capacity. We’re starting to get the points we deserve and show everyone our work.”

Cunha has scored 15 Premier League goals for Wolves this season, playing the majority of his minutes in a role behind the striker.

“I always say that I am always happy to play for this team.” He continued. “Sometimes my emotion is too much because I love to be here.”

If Cunha is to depart the Molineux this summer, he has certainly repaid the £35m fee Wolves paid to Atletico Madrid for him in 2022.
